Water Helps Bodily Functions

Water Helps Bodily Functions, and is the most natural liquid we can put into our bodies. As soon as we consume it, the body gets right to work and knows what to do with it…AND IT SHOULD…after all, water makes up for over 60 percent of our body weight, and 90 percent of our blood cells contain water.

One big roll water is used for in the body is to regulate your body’s temperature. It is also used to lubricate and cushion your joints. It also protects your spinal cord and other sensitive tissues. This is a huge reason why many who increase their water intake feel more energy, less pain, and better cognitive thought.

Water carries with it the vitamins and nutrients in the bloodstream from your brain to your toes. One of these such elements is oxygen. Without good hydration, there is less water to deliver oxygen throughout the body. This lack in hydration in turn increases blood pressure as the body and heart become more stressed in desperation for oxygen. Then the brain becomes affected as well by the lack of oxygen which explains why we begin to hallucinate when severely dehydrated.

Another crucial benefit to Why Drinking Water Is Good For You, is Water Helps To Detoxify. Our kidneys and liver work non-stop to detoxify our bodies. In order for the toxins they extract to get out, water is needed to flush the system and carry those toxins and impurities out. This is done through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements. The more water you consume the better the body can cleanse itself.

The human body was made to use water as hydration since the beginning of our creation. When you drink a Gatorade, Powerade, or a smoothie, it’s the water molecules in those drinks delivering hydration to the body. In fact, beverages such as Gatorade and Powerade are loaded with sugar and tons of junk making them a waste of money if you are serious about your health and performance. The truth is nothing you drink will hydrate and bring health to your body like water.

Water Increases Immunity and Health

Water Increases Immunity and Health. The biggest benefit goes to your heart health, but it will increase your immune system and lessen your risk for cancer, lower your blood pressure, and much more. On the physical appearance side you will have increased gum health and whiter teeth, and your skin will look and feel great. Studies show that people who consume a lot of water age much less and look far younger than others their age who drink less and in turn look much older. So stop wasting money on anti-aging cream and drink more water.

Water Drinking Tips

When I often wake up, the first thing I usually want is coffee. However, water in the  morning hydrates the body better and produces the most results than drinking water any other time of day. So while that coffee is bringing, swig down a glass of water. Add lemon in your morning drink which will activate your bowels and help lighten the load. You will start your day feeling great. Then you can have your coffee!

Though coffee is a diuretic, one cup will not dehydrate you. That cup of coffee or tea contains caffeine which gives you an adrenaline boost to the body which will be good for your heart and trigger weight-loss on top of delivering that dose of energy you are looking for. If you have more than one cup, be sure to drink more water when you are done or even in between cups.

Why Drinking Water Is Good For YouYour body can only absorb so much water in one time before passing through the body so don’t just gulp down your water all at once. I like to drink water in between sets when working out each time, and drink water at a small glass at a time every fifteen to twenty minutes. If you do this you will never feel thirsty. Remember, if you feel thirsty at anytime of the day, your body is already dehydrated and it is too late, so don’t go by thirst alone as an indicator.

Everybody comes in different shapes and sizes. The recommended 8 glasses of water a day we all grew up with is actually way to general of an amount. Depending on size it could be more or less than you really need. The sad part is that most people do not even stick to that and are often the ones that should drink even more. To make it simple just take your body weight and divide by two. This is the amount of water you need to drink in ounces for ultimate hydration and benefits.

The Bottom Line

Water has too many benefits to count. What we have brought up so far have only been much of the common knowledge ones. The biggest thing to take back is that instead of all the beverages that are out there, you can benefit a whole lot more by passing on the sodas and energy drinks and stick to water.

Those drinks may say they benefit you in a some ways, but they are hurting you in many others. I hope this post helps you see Why Drinking Water Is Good For You, and why you should start drinking a lot more water in your daily consumption.

  1. I have always struggled wanting to drink water. I definitely agree with the benefits of hydration that you have listed, but if I’m being completely honest, it isn’t my go-to drink.

That being said, I want it to be my go-to drink. Do you have any strategies that can help me become motivated to drinking water over other drinks?

    • It’s like quitting smoking. You can do alternative options like the nicotine gum, vaping, hypnotism, but if you are strong enough you can just quit cold turkey and save time and money. Just straight switching to water is your fastest and cheapest way, but you can try sweeteners like water enhancers or vitamin water. However if you can do water and only water, in time you will find yourself not like other drinks as much. That is what happened to me…for a time I was a Dew drinker.
